COSCO Shipping Heavy Transport Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "COSCO Shipping Heavy") recently published theAnnouncement on the Construction of 4 40,000-ton Class Multi-purpose Heavy Lift Ships".

With the continuous of demand in the wind power industry, COSCO Shipping Heavy has taken measures to expand its heavy lift ship fleet and ordered 4 multi-purpose ships from CSBC Xing.

In the announcement, COSCO Shipping Heavy stated that the total amount of the order is 1.492 billion yuan. The construction of4 multi-purpose heavy lift ships with a deadweight of 40,000 tons is equivalent to a single ship cost of 373 million yuan.

The first ship is scheduled to be delivered in June 2028, and the other three ships will be delivered successively before the end of February 229.

COSCO Shipping Heavy Transport Co., Ltd. stated that this order reflects the optimistic prospects of the wind power logistics industry. The company has been an active participant in the transportation of wind power-related cargo and the demand for transporting larger and heavier turbine components is increasing as wind power projects move into more offshore areas
