Far East to Mediterranean Adjustment, effective November 15

recently, Mediterranean Shipping Company announced a rate adjustment for multiple routes.
Effective November 15,2025 (until further notice, but not exceeding November 30, 2025), from all Far East ports (including but not limited to ports Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia) to ports in Northern Europe, the Mediterranean (including the Western Mediterranean, Eastern Mediterranean, Adriatic Sea, and North Africa) and the Sea, the following new freight rates will be implemented.

The above rates include the following: Basic rate (i.e. ocean freight) and following surcharges
Global Fuel Surcharge (GFS): effective for November 2025, $92 per TEU (to be collected based on the chargeable ton, VATOS).
Emission Control Area Surcharge (ECA): $15 per TEU for the Mediterranean (MED) and Northwest (NEUR) region (including Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands, and France) (to be collected based on the actual charge ton, VATOS); $52 per TEU for other Northern Europe and Baltic countries (to be collected based on the actual chargeable ton, VATOS).
subject to the addition of:
Carbon Limit Surcharge (CLS): $20 per TEU (to be collected based on the actual chargeable ton,OS)
Carbon Review Surcharge (CRS): $56 per TEU for the Northwest Europe region (to be collected based on the actual chargeable ton VATOS), $83 per TEU for the Mediterranean region (to be collected based on the actual chargeable ton, VATOS)
FAK does not include IMO category goods and high-value goods.
Note: Terminal Handling Surcharge may generate other applicable charges
In order to support the continued provision of and efficient services in its network, Mediterranean Shipping Company announced that effective November 15, 2025 (until further notice, but not exceeding November 30,2025), from all Far East ports (including but not limited to ports in Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia) to all ports in West Africa, the following freight rates will be implemented.
