COSCO's First Ship, the Cherry Express, Docks at Yangshan Port! 800 Boxes, 21,000 Tons Cherries Are Coming!

According to the CCTV News Client, at present, various fresh fruits such as Chilean cherries, which are highly favored by, are arriving at ports in large quantities through direct sea and air transport. These fresh fruits will be available at more affordable prices and in more abundant quantities, adding a rich selection to's dining tables and enriching everyone's "fruit basket" and "vegetable basket".
On December 26, 2025, "COSCO Shipping Volga River", a Chinese-flagged vessel, docked smoothly at the first-phase terminal of Yangshan Port. This is the first "herry Express" liner to arrive in China this year.
Accompanying the ship's entry, there are more than 820 40-foot containers of Chilean cherries, totaling more than 21,000 tons, as well as more than 2,000 tons of fresh fruits such asados, blueberries, and peaches, and frozen pork.
In fact, the air transport of cherries had already begun in an orderly manner earlier. In the of last month, "Cathay Cargo", a subsidiary of China Eastern Airlines, had already started engaging in the air transport of cherries. On December 5, direct passenger flight from Shanghai to Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, was also officially launched, joining the ranks of cherry air transport.
It is understood that CCO Shipping has carefully crafted 7 cherry express routes, including 4 scheduled ships per month from Shanghai Port loaded with Chilean cherries. Around the New Year's Day, "COSCO America" is expected to arrive at the port, bringing in nearly 700 40-foot containers of Chilean cherries.
Looking to before the 2026 Spring Festival, it is expected that nearly 30 cherry direct ships will dock at Yangshan Port in sequence, transporting a cumulative total of than 200,000 tons of cherries.
