Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has officially announced the launch of its new ALPACA shipping service.

Scheduled to begin operations in September 2025, this service aims to provide rapid transit times for trade between the Far East and the west coast of South America. The route starts from Ningbo, China, transits through Busan, South Korea, and finally reaches Callao, Peru, offering market-leading sailing speeds.

This unique weekly direct service also calls at Chilean ports, enhancing connectivity with key Bolivian trade corridors through major hubs Arica and Iquique.

Designed specifically for the Chilean cherry season, the ALPACA service will operate alongside MSC’s Cherry Express, providing exporters with efficient and reliable transport solutions to Asian markets. Utilizing MSC Smart Reefer technology, the service ensures the integrity, freshness, and full visibility of refrigerated cargo throughout the supply chain.
