The Philippine Bureau of Customs (BOC) recently seized three containers at the Manila International Container Port (MICP) containing misdeclared e-cigarette products and other regulated items valued at PHP 4.5 million.

On July 31, BOC officials inspected the seized cargo originating from China, which had been falsely declared as kitchenware.

Following intelligence received by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS), a detention order was issued in January 2025. A 100% physical inspection conducted on July 14, 2025, uncovered 81,000 pieces of various e-cigarette products, bags of fully refined paraffin wax, and other misdeclared goods.

The detention order was officially issued on July 23, 2025. The goods are currently undergoing confiscation proceedings for violations of applicable regulations.

BOC is conducting further investigations to identify and prosecute responsible parties, ensuring full accountability under the law.
