Arthur Smith (Grimsby) Limited are Stevedores, Port Agents and Freight Forwarders based in Grimsby and Immingham on the east coast of the United Kingdom. The company has been providing quality shipping services in the ports of Grimsby and Immingham since being founded by Arthur Smith in 1936. It has progressed through four generations and is now managed by brothers James & David Smith (MICS). Frozen cargo was first handled in 1947 and temperature controlled products have been a major part of the business since then. Fresh and frozen fish, meat, vegetables, fruit and fruit juices from all over the world have been handled in Grimsby and Immingham. Freight Forwarding operations cover imports and exports of a wide variety of commodities from and to all parts of the Globe. Offshore services are provided for wind farm and construction projects as well as the oil and gas industry. Involvement in the timber trade spans 60 years and covers agency, stevedoring and forwarding operations. A weekly LCL/FCL service for general cargo to and from the Faroe Islands is operated via Immingham. Haulage is arranged throughout the UK and Ireland for those with door to door requirements. Haulage, cold storage and dry storage are also provided in addition to the stevedoring, port agency and freight forwarding services.
