Established in 1998 by Antonio Sgarbi and Mr. J.P. Schryver, the company has enjoyed rapid development thanks to the long experience in Mexican and South American markets and could further consolidate its growth by expansion into Asia with the goal of developing a global network. Since the beginning of our company, we chose to use an operational and computer system similar to larger groups, which at first was probably overdimensioned for our needs but we believed could keep us at the same service level. The system became very important as we were expanding. For several years we had to make quick alterations in our strategy in order to face the new market trends and exigencies of our customers by assisting them in their new sales and production programs and offering more targeted services. The continuous pressure of globalization that required more and more competitive offers to stay on the markets led Schryver Freight to look for a new partner. In 2005 we established a joint venture with BDP International, a leader in the chemical field, who has been investing for years in new technologies and a worldwide computer network open to clients: bdpcustomer.com. Schryver Freight, is changing its name to BDP Italy Srl, and will profit from this new opportunity, which will be a plus to our Italian customers and will place us in network, which in turn will enable us to face global competition. Antonio Sgarbi, who assisted in establishing Schryver Freight in 1998, began with a European trucking company, and then moved to export customs clearances and to a NVOCC, while being an agent of shipping lines such as Capricorn Container Line, Chase and Prudential Line. At the same time he was attending an evening school and English courses, and after their successful completion he moved to a Freight Forwarder, frequently travelling to the Far East and South American markets, and finally to the United States. For more than 20 years he has been representing in Italy M/S HJ Schryver & CO., a leader in South American and Mexican markets and on September 1998 he started the Schryver Freight Srl. He began with 5 people and o.5 mil. Euro of turnover, and today there are 41 people, 5 offices in Italy and turnover is 16 mil. Euro.
