HomeCredit, formerly known as La Salvacion Sociedad Mutua de Construccion y Prestamos, a financial institution established in 1932, is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Insular Life Assurance Company Ltd. ( Filipino-owned life insurance company in the country today). HomeCredit is regulated by The Home Guarantee Corporation. It started its operation in 1996 and is now servicing more than 800 companies . HomeCredit aims to provide solutions to two crucial problems employees face in home acquisition : (a) affordability of the initial cash requirement for downpayment and other costs, and (b) affordability of loan amortization. These solutions are superior to those offered by banks and other financial institutions They are : Systematized Equity build-up plan as a solution to the problem of raising the required downpayment through a convenient salary deduction scheme. This plan provides very competitive and exceptional yields plus additional loans over and beyond what banks and other financial institutions can offer. Our equity requirement for members through this equity build-up plan is only approximately 15% as compared to 30% to 50% of the selling price required by other financial institutions. Affordable Housing Loans are offered to help employees identify and acquire their dream home coupled with stable interest rates up to 20 years. They have the option to acquire homes, lots and Home renovation packages in their preferred location (subject to HomeCredit’s coverage area). In addition, HomeCredit has successfully offered the Rent-to-Own Promo to its members. It provides availers the option to rent homes at affordable prices and ultimately own the unit. The benefits of this promo are as follows: No immediate loan commitment, protection from any price increase, rental payments can be converted to loan payments, insurance coverage even while on the rental stage, and lowest cash - out requirement to move-in.
