Maersk announces major personnel appointment

Recently, Maersk announced two personnel appointments involving management changes in the regions of India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka as well as UK and Ireland.
Maersk has appointed Thomas Theeuwes as the new General Manager for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, effective 1 January 026.
Current General Manager for the region, Christopher Cook, will take the role of General Manager for Maersk in the UK and Ireland. Thewes brings nearly two decades of global expertise to the role, most recently serving as Managing Director for West Africa.
Since joining Maersk in Belgium in 207, he has held senior commercial and leadership positions in Europe, China and Africa, always driving operational excellence and customer-focused growth.
Christopher Cook, currently Manager for Maersk India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, will take over as General Manager for the UK and Ireland region early next year.
The British native Maersk as an intern in 2002 and has spent the past twenty years with Damco and Maersk in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and India
Christopher Cook has spent the last 7 years in the IMEA region, originally as Managing Director for the UAE region, where he successfully drove the integration transformation of the business in the region. Most recently, he served as Managing Director for the IBS region, where he landed the long-term strategy for the region, elevated operational and improved profitability through the successful growth of the full product portfolio.
