On 20 October, Rodolphe Saadé, Chairman and CEO of the CMA CGM Group, visited the of Koper, the leading port of the Adriatic and a key gateway to Central Europe, in the presence of the Prime Minister of Slovenia, Robert Golob, and President of France, Emmanuel Macron. This visit was part of a broader effort to strengthen the strategic partnership between France and Slovenia and to advance the development of the India- East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).
In this context, CMA CGM and the Port of Koper signed a Memorandum of Understanding jointly establish a joint venture focused on automotive logistics services for imports and exports, which will involve CEVA Logistics, a subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, thus upgrading partnership that has already lasted for more than 20 years.
With over 20 years of presence in Slovenia, the CMA CGM Group has consolidated its role in connecting the Adriatic, Asia and Central Europe, through its maritime services, multimodal solutions and increasingly strong logistics activities.
With strong multimodal connections, combining and rail transport, CMA CGM contributes to the competitiveness of the Port of Koper, especially in its cooperation with leading car manufacturers, enabling the transport of vehicles to and from.
CMA CGM and the Port of Koper share the ambition to strengthen Slovenia's role as a sustainable logistics hub in Europe. The two partners reaffirm commitment to deepen their collaboration and to strengthen logistics activities, and consider ways to enhance Koper's competitiveness through joint projects, while promoting the development of regional trade flows
