U.S. Customs seizes a container full of cocaine

Recently, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Anti-Terrorism and Contraband Enforcement Unit at the of San Juan seized 365 pounds (about 165 kilograms) of cocaine hidden in a container that arrived from the Dominican Republic.
During an inspection ofbound cargo, officers with the Anti-Terrorism and Contraband Enforcement Unit selected one container for a physical examination. Inside the container, they discovered eight burlap hidden between pallets. Upon opening the burlap sacks, the officers found 149 bricks of a substance that field-tested positive for cocaine.
" significant amount of drugs was successfully interdicted, protecting the community from the devastating effects of drug trafficking," said Roberto Vaquero, Field Operations Director.
The seized has an estimated street value of more than $4 million and is currently in the custody of CBP.
