On October 9th, an incident occurred at the Dutch port of Beatrixhaven involving a river cargo ship and a passenger vessel, with no reports injuries or environmental pollution.
At approximately 7:15 a.m. local time, the passenger ferry collided with the river cargo ship Elmare, which was loaded with steel and moored near a bridge. The accident caused damage to the cargo ship, which also developed a slight list.
Following the incident, the fire department the Koninklijke Nederlandse Redding Maatschappij (KNRM), and the Rijkswaterstaat (General Directorate of Works and Water Management) arrived on the scene to assess the situation. Authorities confirmed that the situation was stable and did not pose an immediate threat.
