On October 1st, in the Arabian Sea near the fort of Kochi in India, the cargo ship MSC Silver II collided the fishing vessel Prathyasha. The accident did not result in any injuries.
A nearby fishing boat alerted the cargo ship about the presence of another fishing boat in its. Despite the MSC Silver II reducing its speed, it still grazed the Prathyasha, causing several crew members to jump into the sea. All crew members were later to be safe and sound.
The accident caused structural damage to the fishing boat and a large quantity of fishing nets were destroyed. The MSC Silver II did not report any or damage to its hull.
The MSC Silver II primarily sails in the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea, and the Gulf of Aden.
Invest into the accident have been launched by the relevant authorities. The latest reports suggest that the main shipping lane was about 20 kilometers away from the site of the collision. The why the cargo ship was sailing in the area has not been disclosed.
The MSC Silver II was built in 2002 and sails under the flag ofia. The cargo ship is 185.5 meters long, 29 meters wide, and has a gross tonnage of 27,828 tons
