On September 24, the Liberian-flagged car carrier JISU FORTUNE collided with the Pierre Vandamme at the Port of Zeebrugge, Belgium. The accident did not result in any injuries.
The incident occurred during the ship's departure maneuvers when a sudden of wind caused the vessel to lose control. Both the lock and the car carrier sustained damage, leaving the transport ship unable to enter or exit the inner harbor for several hours.
As a result, the shipping lane was temporarily closed, and other vessels' movements were restricted.
Investigations have been launched by the relevant authorities to determine the cause the accident. Currently, the vessel is docked at the Port of Zeebrugge for inspections.
According to the voyage plan, the next port of call for the is Casablanca, Morocco.
