In November 2025, the Port of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) remained the second busiest gateway for container throughput in the United States, handling 509,124 TEU.
During the first 11 months of 2025, the port a total of 5.52 million TEU of loaded containers, maintaining a high ranking in the U.S. container throughput.
Vehicle crossings at the six operated by the Port Authority also remained stable.
In November, 10.1 million vehicles traveling east used these crossings, a decrease of 0.01% to the same period in 2024, and 0.6% lower than the level in November 2019, before the pandemic.
From to November, the total number of eastbound vehicle crossings reached 111.3 million, slightly lower than the data in 2024 and 201.
The port continues to serve as a critical gateway for regional and international trade, facilitating the movement of goods through its terminals, connecting New York and New Jersey with domestic and supply chains.
In December 2025, the Port of New York and New Jersey announced a landmark 33-year lease extension agreement with Maher Term.
