Maersk has inaugurated a new warehouse in Manzanillo, Mexico, a strategic investment of more than15 million aimed at strengthening the country's logistics network.

The facility, located just 5 kilometers from the Port of Manzanillo, Mexico'siest gateway port handling nearly half of the country's containerized cargo volume, underscores Maersk's long-term commitment to driving trade growth and enhancing supply chain resilience

Spanning 31,000 square meters, the facility is designed to alleviate logistical bottlenecks in the "first mile" and "last mile" enabling goods to move more quickly and efficiently through this strategic hub. By enhancing port operations capacity, Maersk has bolstered supply chain resilience and facilitated Mexico's greater role in global trade.

"Manzanillo is one of the most dynamic trade hubs in Mexico, and this investment demonstrates our commitment to the country's long-term growth," said Patricia Perez Salazar, General Manager of Maersk Mexico. "By offering an integrated service that ranges from trucking to transshipment and refrig support, we help our customers streamline their supply chains and enhance their competitiveness in both domestic and international markets."

As a key hub for the arrival of Asian goods Manzanillo is directly connected to the main industrial areas of Mexico, including the Bajío region and the Central Corridor. Its scale and location make it critical for supply chains and supporting the country's international trade.

A range of services designed to boost efficiency and reduce costs is provided:

· Trucking to reduce truck idle time at port terminals, minimizing dwell time and congestion.

· Dry and reefer transshipment services, which can transfer goods to 53- containers, flat racks, or smaller distribution units while maintaining cold chain integrity.

· Container management that optimizes receiving and delivery schedules, helping companies manage their warehouse space and inventory more effectively.

· Dry and reefer equipment maintenance and repair to ensure assets remain in optimal condition.

Maersk's presence in Mexico encompasses over59,000 square meters of storage space in Mexico City and Tijuana and a storage capacity of 250,000 square meters in Cuitlán, Lázaro Cárdenas, and Manzanillo. In addition, Maersk operates air logistics hubs in Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara. Looking ahead, Maersk plans to expand its capabilities in Guadalajara and Monterrey and strengthen land infrastructure to support cross-border trade Mexico and the United States.
