On March 24, the SITC Yokohama smoothly berthed at Haitian Terminal with its first cargo, marking the official launch of Xiamen Port’s new direct Southeast Asia route, CPX7. This innovative route introduces three groundbreaking measures, opening an efficient logistics corridor for China-Philippines trade.

· Strategic Route Optimization

Adopting a "port-skipping direct sailing" model, CPX7 bypasses Manila North Port (a globally notorious congestion hub) and establishes a direct Xiamen-Iloilo route. Mr. Lin, Assistant Manager of Haitian Terminal Operations, revealed: "The successful maiden voyage of CPX7 fills the gap in direct services between Xiamen and Iloilo." By restructuring the route, transit time is reduced from 8 days to 72 hours, lowering overall logistics costs and enhancing supply chain efficiency.

· Multi-Dimensional Capacity Upgrade

The route deploys two 1,100 TEU vessels operating on a fixed weekly schedule, creating a "maritime expressway" connecting Shanghai, Xiamen, Iloilo, Cebu, and Cagayan. Beyond general cargo, specialized services for cold chain, hazardous materials, and special containers are added, prioritizing high-value goods like electronics and cross-border e-commerce.

· Regional Network Reshaping

With CPX7, Xiamen Port expects over 500 TEUs of additional weekly throughput. The route delivers three strategic advantages:

  1. Filling the Xiamen-Iloilo direct service gap;
  2. Strengthening RCEP regional hub functions;
  3. Boosting the "Maritime Silk Road" brand.
  4. Mr. Lin noted: "This route not only accelerates China-Philippines trade but also sets a new benchmark for global shipping excellence."

Looking Ahead: Xiamen Port will deepen port-shipping collaboration, expand ASEAN partnerships, and accelerate the development of a high-efficiency regional logistics network.
