Digitalization and intelligent technologies are rapidly reshaping the logistics industry. At the same time, global supply chains continue to evolve, and the cross-border trade environment is becoming increasingly complex. International logistics companies are gaining access to new growth opportunities, but they are also facing greater cooperation risks, rising operational demands, and increasingly stringent compliance requirements.

Improving efficiency through digital capabilities and building a more reliable framework for global cooperation have become key priorities for the long-term development of the logistics industry.

On July 14, the Logistics and Supply Chain Industry Exchange and Business Matching Event, themed “Smart Logistics, Connected Future,” was held in Yangpu District, Shanghai.

Jiang Fu, Director of Risk Control at JCtrans, was invited to attend the event and share his insights. Together with representatives from government departments, industry associations, logistics companies, financial institutions, and professional service providers, he discussed emerging trends in logistics and supply chain development, as well as how international logistics companies can strengthen their business capabilities in an increasingly globalized market.

Smart Logistics Is Reshaping the Industry

Logistics and supply chains connect production, trade, and distribution, while providing essential support for the real economy.

At the event, representatives from SAIC Anji Logistics, Oujian Group, the Shanghai Logistics Association, Bank of China, and other organizations shared practical experience in smart logistics, cross-border supply chains, legal protection, and financial services. The discussions explored new approaches to digital transformation, industry collaboration, and sustainable growth across the logistics sector.

Although the speakers addressed different areas, their views pointed to the same underlying issue: a company’s ability to manage risk, operate efficiently, and sustain long-term growth.

As global cooperation deepens, competition is no longer determined by resources alone. Companies are increasingly distinguished by their risk management capabilities, operational efficiency, and overall business resilience.

Risk Management Is Becoming a Core Competitive Capability

As a guest speaker, Jiang Fu drew on JCtrans’ experience in serving logistics companies worldwide and discussed the risk management challenges faced by international logistics companies in global cooperation.

He noted that as companies continue to expand into overseas markets, their cooperation networks are growing and they have access to a wider range of business opportunities. At the same time, however, operational risks in cross-border cooperation are also increasing.

International logistics operations involve multiple countries, parties, and business processes. A single shipment may require coordination among shippers, consignees, carriers, overseas agents, ports, customs authorities, and other parties.

A problem at any stage may disrupt the entire shipment. In day-to-day operations, issues such as cargo release without presentation of the original bill of lading, overdue freight payments, abandoned cargo disputes, counterparties deliberately cutting off communication, and falsified company credentials continue to occur.

For many companies, the main obstacle to stronger business performance is not a lack of opportunities, but the absence of a comprehensive risk management framework for global cooperation.

Building a safer and more reliable cooperation mechanism has therefore become an important priority for international logistics companies worldwide.

Risk Control Goes Beyond Dispute Resolution

During his presentation, Jiang Fu explained that the JCtrans risk control team handles a large number of commercial disputes involving members worldwide every day.

These cases range from payment disputes and disputes over title to cargo to breaches of agreement and overseas agents becoming unreachable. Each case may affect a company’s Payment Protection, customer relationships, and long-term operations.

For JCtrans, risk control is not limited to resolving disputes after they occur. Through its credit framework, accumulated risk data, Risk Alerts, and professional dispute resolution mechanism, the platform helps companies identify potential issues earlier and reduce operational risks in cross-border cooperation.

Effective risk control should begin before a dispute arises, by helping companies identify warning signs, assess potential partners, and prevent avoidable losses.

Strengthening Platform Capabilities to Support Global Operations

JCtrans has remained focused on the international logistics industry throughout its development.

In the past, the platform primarily helped companies connect with global partners and expand their international business. Today, companies are concerned not only with gaining more business opportunities, but also with whether their partners are reliable, their operations are efficient, their customer relationships can be sustained, and their business can continue to grow.

The platform’s value goes beyond facilitating individual business partnerships. It also lies in helping companies reduce risk, improve efficiency, and strengthen business resilience throughout the course of each partnership.

JCtrans will continue to focus on the practical operating needs of international logistics companies, further strengthen its platform capabilities, and advance its four core areas of value: Business Opportunity Matching, Cooperation Risk Protection, Reduce Costs and Boost Efficiency, and Marketing and Promotion Services.

By working closely with logistics companies worldwide, JCtrans aims to support a global cooperation network that is safer, more efficient, and more reliable.
