Awards Shipping aims for the high sports BACK in February 1990, two young men opened a new shipping agency in 350 square feet of office space. They had little to help them other than several years' experience in freight forwarding and their enthusiasm. In particular, they had no staff but what they did have was a burning desire to succeed and an ambition to stand out in the fiercely competitive forwarding world as a name that customers could trust. So, with a flash of glamour, they named the company Awards Shipping. Today, from the vantage point of much larger premises in Causeway Bay, they command a successful company operating in a more than 6,000 square feet of office in plush Causeway Bay Plaza, commercial and shopping center area in Hong Kong Island. But even this milestone looks modest in comparison to the network of Awards Shipping offices steadily opening across Asia. The company now has offices in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. In an effort to meet the fast changing environment of the Hong Kong market place, in addition, in order to cope with great expansion in China, the company has made restructure and adopted a new company name as ¨ Awards Shipping Agency Ltd 〃 since 01 April 2001. Now, Awards Shipping is having two offices in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, southern part of China. In coming months time, it will have new offices in China specially in Shanghai. Awards Shipping group now has a workforce of 200 people worldwide trained and motivated in providing efficient service to customers. Awards Shipping is acting as general shipping agencies for two carriers named ` Prosperity Container Line S.A. ' and ` Fidelity Container Line S.A. ', which are registered in Panama. It can boast a range of services, from NVOCC operations, worldwide transshipment and transloading to marine surveying, customs clearance and logistics service. However, in spite of their company's success, the company have no intention of resting on its laurels. The company is planning to develop more offices in South Asia and Mainland China in order to serve customers closely for their needs.
