Mr. PREM KUMAR is a young energetic entrepreneur of only 37 years of age with the acquired skill sets that he has inherited from his forefathers who has been in the Trading and Export-Import business since long-long years. COVERAGE & SCOPE IMPORT: The firm is engaged mainly in the import of Wet Blue Sheep Leather & Raw Sheep Wool (CLEAN). Its major part of import of both the item is from UZBEKISTAN. The major quantity of Wet Blue Sheep Leather so imported is sold out after it is being processed in its own tannery at Chennai and converted in to White Crust, Black Crust, Sheep Napa and Upper. So far, the firm has experienced a problem of deep fly-cuts in around 30 to 35 percent Wet Blue Sheep Leather imported from Uzbekistan. To overcome this problem of deep fly-cuts the firm has decided to go for manufacturing of Leather Goods/Handicrafts such as: ? Leather Garments, ? Ladies Purses, ? Hand Bags, ? Profile Bags, ? Pass-Port Holders, ? Laptop Bags, ? Gents Wallets, ? Card Holders and ? Fanny Bags etc. for exporting in various foreign countries. The wool is being sold out in whole-sale market situated in Bikaner, Rajasthan to the bulk buyers. The firm is also on the verge of finalizing terms and conditions with two Carpet Manufacturers for bartering its imported Raw Wool with the Carpets manufactured by them. The Carpets so received in the barter system will again be exported. EXPORT: At present the firm is exporting Tea, Surgical Gloves & woolen handmade carpets. Hence, the strategy as evolved by the firm to go for the manufacturing of Leather Handicrafts and other products using those deep fly-cut skins will prove to be a mile stone provided the import duty in the Countries it is to be exported is favorable. Further, the figures also shows that the firm is also focusing on the export of Tea that is one of refreshing and popular beverages of the world.
