MSC invests in inland terminal, strategic layout enhances Bangladesh trade connectivity!

Global logistics operator and member of the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC Group), MEDLOG, has signed an importantcession agreement to operate the Pangaon Inland Container Terminal (PICT). This strategic project will enhance connectivity of the inland supply chain in Bangladesh, facilitate the smooth flow goods, and support community development and broader industrial growth.




A global leader in container shipping, with services in more than 500 ports worldwide, the M Group has invested in over 100 terminals globally and operates a significant number of inland terminals through MEDLOG. With its unique understanding of how the cargo ecosystem evolves and th, the MSC Group’s investment in Pangaon Inland Container Terminal reflects its conviction that Bangladesh has the potential to become one of the main gateways to trade in South and beyond.




Strategically located near the capital, Dhaka, Pangaon Inland Container Terminal is well-situated on the Buriganga and close to the Dhaka-Mawa-Bhanga Expressway. The terminal will contribute to a more resilient and efficient trade system by shifting the country’s cargo transport congested highways to low-emission inland waterways.




Under the new concession agreement, MEDLOG will be responsible for the operation, supply, and of Pangaon Inland Container Terminal, introducing global expertise and advanced technology to optimize inland logistics. MEDLOG will also expand terminal facilities to support growing trade volumes, reaching an capacity of 160,000 TEU. Additionally, to enhance intermodal connectivity, MEDLOG will charter inland barges to connect Pangaon with otherland river terminals and seaports.
