It is reported that the Mediterranean Shipping Company and Hapag-Lloyd have bypassed the Port of Ensenada in Mexico the westbound route, opting for the Port of Manzanillo as an alternative, while new customs measures have also impacted Mexican ports.

Recently, several shipping companies have the Port of Ensenada from their service routes, citing ongoing operational difficulties and cargo delays.

According to the notice released by the Mediterranean Shipping Company, due to persistent challenges, the company has suspended its service to the Port of Ensenada indefinitely and is actively seeking alternatives.

Currently, there is no regular service for import cargo the Port of Ensenada, and the first two vessels of the newly launched "Mexicas" service have also skipped the port.

Hapag-Lloyd also confirmed that its vessels will no longer call at the Port of Ensenada for the loading of export cargo bound for Asia. Consequently, the direct westbound service fromnsenada to Asia is no longer available.

The decision to bypass the Port of Ensenada is attributed to the significant loss of time during vessel berthing operations which affects the punctuality of the overall voyage.

Other factors include the implementation of a new tax structure in Mexico that supports tariffs and severe backlogs caused by physical inspections of.
