SITC Continues Fleet Expansion with Order of Four 2,700 TEU Vessels from Huanghai Shipbuilding

SITC International Holdings Co., Ltd. is continuing to expand its fleet by ordering four new 2,700 TEU container ships from Huanghai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.


The company is reportedly investing nearly USD 153 million in the construction of these new vessels, which are scheduled for delivery between late 2027 and mid-2028.


Last year, SITC placed an order at Huanghai Shipbuilding for ten 1,800 TEU ships, with deliveries planned from 2026 to 2028. The unit price for those vessels was approximately USD 29 million each.


According to Alphaliner statistics, SITC operates a total of 121 container ships, including 103 owned vessels. In terms of capacity, SITC ranks 14th among global container shipping companies.


SITC manages 78 shipping routes with a network covering 81 major ports across Mainland China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and India.


In 2024, SITC’s maritime container throughput is expected to exceed 3.57 million TEU (excluding empty containers).
