Recently, Israeli media reported that both Hapag-Lloyd and Mediterranean Shipping have submitted bids to acquire Zim, and Maers is also interested in the acquisition.

However, the situation took a dramatic turn recently. According to a report by Lloyd’s List, a spokesperson for Mediterranean Shipping denied any to acquire Zim, saying: “We deny the intention to acquire Zim.

Mediterranean Shipping insists that it has never engaged in any negotiations regarding the deal refuting reports that it has submitted a formal offer to acquire the company.

On November 25th, the Zim board confirmed that Zim's CEO, Glickman, and Israeli shipowner Rami Ungar had previously submitted a non-binding offer to acquire the company. The board stated that it has rejected the proposal and a strategic review, appointing Evercore as its financial advisor. The board said that, as part of the review, it has received "expressions of interest from multiple parties, strategic intentions."
