According to media reports, French shipping giant CMA CGM, the world's third-biggest container line, has resumed limited cargo to Russia. The company, which withdrew from the Russian market following the outbreak of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict in 2022, is focusing solely on the of essential foodstuffs to meet the growing demand of some of its clients.

Like many Western businesses, CMA CGM halted all operations in Russia when the began, suspending not only its shipping services but also selling its stakes in Russian port terminals. The company said those decisions still stand.

CMA CGM confirmed in statement that its subsidiary, CNC, has resumed transporting food items such as citrus fruits and coffee to Russia. The Group emphasized that the operation is "very limited" in scale andies strictly with all international sanctions regulations. CMA CGM did not disclose more operational details.

Chartering third-party vessels for cargo
