According to the official website of the Bernama news agency in Malaysia on the 14th, the police successfully dismantled an international trafficking syndicate after seizing 1.44 million ringgit of methamphetamine hidden in an altered container during a raid at West Port on November 7.

Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, the head of the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) of the Bukit Aman, stated that this operation was launched based on cooperation between the Malaysian police and the Australian Federal Police (AFP), which detected suspicious activities involving a container that passed through the Port of Klang.

He revealed at press conference held at the Klang Police Station: "The syndicate is suspected of obtaining drugs from the Middle East, using Malaysia as a transit point, with the container cargo declared marble, attempting to smuggle it into the Australian market.

However, international intelligence indicated the possibility of additional hidden cargo, and upon inspection, it was found that there was altered space at the top of the container with traces of new welding." When inspecting the altered area at the top of the container, 136 transparent plastic bags containing substances suspected to be methamphetamine were discovered, weighing a total of 45 kilograms.

Datuk Hussein Omar Khan stated that this is the second time this year the NCID has successfully cracked a case using similar methods, highlighting that Port Klang has become a drug transit point. He confirmed that no local companies were involved in the transportation and the container only stayed in Port Klang for transit.
