On the evening of November 8th, a maritime support vessel named "Blue Phoenix" caught fire while docked at the Permado terminal in the port of Coatzacoalcos, Mexico. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries and no environmental pollution occurred.
The fire reportedly produced a large of thick smoke, which led to a temporary suspension of navigation activities within the port. Emergency services quickly mobilized to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby areas or other parts of the.
During the initial rescue operation, the fire was brought under control after about an hour of efforts. Tugboats "Azteca" and "Méx" sprayed water onto the burning vessel to prevent the flames from spreading to other areas.
Despite this, the fire reignited, and firefighting efforts resumed until the personneled the ship to completely extinguish the flames.
According to unofficial reports, the fire started in the bridge and then spread to other parts of the vessel. However, the cause of the fire is still unknown, and authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
The "Blue Phoenix" is a maritime support vessel flying the flag of Mexico, in 1999. The ship is 101 meters long, 21.04 meters wide, and has a gross tonnage of 6984.
