According to the global ship tracking platform on September 22, the Panamanian cargo ship "Artvin" and the Turkish ferryKamil Sayin" collided seriously in the Bosphorus Strait (Istanbul Strait), causing 12 passengers to be injured.


So far there have been no reports of deaths or pollution.


The relevant departments have launched an investigation to find out the specific situation of the accident.


The accident occurred at around8:30 p.m. local time, when the ferry "Kamil Sayin", which operates on the Beşiktaş—Üsküdar route collided with the cargo ship "Artvin".


Two injured passengers were evacuated from the ferry and taken to the hospital by ambulance.


Subsequently, both were removed from the Bosphorus Strait to ensure safe navigation. The ferry docked safely at the Paşalimanı pier, while the cargo ship anchored nearby.

Turkish Coast Guard officials are assessing the damage and continuing to investigate the collision. Three people, including the two captains of the ships, were detained for their connection to incident.


After being processed at the police station, the suspects were handed over to the court and released under judicial supervision. Two suspects were issued an international travel ban for "ligence causing multiple injuries", and one suspect was issued a travel ban and required to sign a guarantee of "assuming criminal responsibility"
