Recently, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) announced an optimization of its Asia–U.S. West Coast service network in response to developments in the trans-Pacific market.

In the face of a complex and rapidly changing market environment, MSC has made key adjustments to its Asia–U.S. West Coast services. As part of these changes, MSC has decided to temporarily suspend its PEARL service. This suspension will remain in effect until further notice. Meanwhile, MSC has enhanced its SENTOSA and ORIENT services to ensure continued service reliability and expanded coverage.

ORIENT Service

To strengthen its service reach and improve connectivity in Southeast Asia, the ORIENT service now includes a new port of call: Haiphong, Vietnam.

The updated port rotation for the ORIENT service is:

Haiphong – Ningbo – Shanghai – Busan – Long Beach – Oakland

This adjustment offers a more direct and efficient logistics link between Vietnam and the U.S. West Coast, providing additional shipping options for importers and exporters and supporting the growth of trade between the two regions.

SENTOSA Service

To enhance service stability and connectivity from Xiamen to the U.S. West Coast, the eastbound SENTOSA service has added a call at the port of Xiamen.

The updated port rotation for the SENTOSA service is:

Port Klang – Singapore – Laem Chabang – Vung Tau – Yantian – Xiamen – Long Beach – Oakland

This adjustment enables more efficient cargo movement from Xiamen and surrounding areas to the U.S. West Coast, reinforcing economic ties and providing reliable support to supply chain operations in the region.
