Transporting OOG Machinery from Djibouti to Addis Ababa

Our team was entrusted with the transport of Out of Gauge, OOG crawler excavators and heavy machinery from Djibouti Port to Addis Ababa. This project required exceptional planning, precision, and 24hour dedication to ensure safe delivery.

Challenges

Route Selection: Many bridges along the corridor could not accommodate the oversized trucks. Our team had to carefully survey and select alternative routes that allowed safe passage.

Road Conditions: In muddy stretches, we organized road digging and reinforcement to prevent trucks from getting stuck.

Cargo Sensitivity: The machinery required vibration free handling, demanding maximum care during transit.

Escort & Coordination: Continuous escort support was deployed to monitor progress, manage traffic, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Execution

Conducted detailed route surveys and simulations before dispatch.

Coordinated with local authorities for permissions and escorts.

Deployed engineering support teams along critical points to reinforce weak road sections.

Maintained real time communication between drivers, escorts, and operations staff to respond quickly to challenges.

Outcome

Despite the complexity, all cargo was delivered safely, on time, and without damage. This operation demonstrated our team's ability to handle OOG logistics with precision and care, reinforcing our commitment to reliability in challenging environments.

Key Takeaway

Transporting OOG cargo is not just about moving machinery it's about engineering solutions, teamwork, and dedication. By putting maximum care into every step, we ensured safe delivery and strengthened the development of this critical logistics lane.
